PNG to Vector Conversion With Clean, Editable Paths

A PNG can look sharp on screen and still fall apart in print. We rebuild PNG logos, icons and illustrations as true vector artwork that scales cleanly and edits easily.

About png to vector

PNG is still a pixel format

PNG keeps transparency and avoids JPG-style compression, which is why logos are often shared as PNGs. But it is still made of pixels: enlarge it and edges become soft or stepped, and it cannot be used directly for cutting, engraving or most print workflows that ask for vector files.

Transparent edges need care

PNG artwork often has semi-transparent pixels around its edges, and auto-tracing turns these into ragged outlines or thin halos. We redraw the true edge of each shape so the vector is clean on any background colour.

From screen graphic to production file

We rebuild shapes, lettering and colours as editable vector objects, organised so they are easy to recolour or resize. Where a design uses gradients or shading, we agree with you how to reproduce it for the intended use.

When a PNG is low resolution

Many PNGs are exported small for websites or social media. That’s fine as a reference. If something is too small to read, we raise it with you before redrawing.

FAQ

PNG to Vector: Common Questions

Straight answers before you upload. More questions are answered on the full FAQ page.

Is a PNG a vector file?

No. PNG is a raster (pixel) format, even when it has a transparent background. It can look sharp at its original size but it cannot scale without losing quality, which is why printers and cutters ask for vector files.

Can you keep the transparent background?

Vector files don’t have a background unless one is drawn, so the rebuilt artwork works on any colour. We can also supply a transparent PNG export from the new vector.

What about gradients and shadows?

Vector formats support gradients, but some production methods, such as screen printing, vinyl and embroidery, work best with flat colours. Tell us the intended use and we’ll prepare the artwork to suit.

Can you convert PNG to SVG for my website or cutting machine?

Yes. SVG output can be included. For cutting machines we prepare closed, clean paths; share your machine and material so we can check requirements.
