Vector Reconstruction Case Studies

Real artwork, explained: what the client supplied, why it would not work in production, and what we rebuilt. Details of files delivered and final applications are added as clients confirm them.

Before and after: a colourful shaved-ice mascot logo with palm trees and splash lettering, soft and compressed in the original, redrawn with crisp outlines and clean colour shapes

Multi-colour illustrated logo

  • Original A small, compressed image with soft edges and muddy colour transitions.
  • Problem Fine details such as palm fronds and the tagline blur together when enlarged.
  • Reconstruction Lettering, character and scenery rebuilt as separate, clean vector shapes.
Before and after: playful blue and brown cartoon lettering reading Blueberry Cookies, jagged in the original, redrawn with smooth outlines and highlights

Custom cartoon lettering

  • Original A low-resolution wordmark with jagged, stair-stepped edges.
  • Problem Hand-drawn letterforms cannot be recreated by swapping in a font.
  • Reconstruction Each letter redrawn by hand, keeping outlines, highlights and spacing consistent.
Before and after: a single-colour circular illustration of a camper van, mountains and pine trees, rough in the original, redrawn with fine, even line work

Single-colour detailed illustration

  • Original A one-colour badge illustration with broken lines and rough texture.
  • Problem Dense line work fills in or breaks up once it is scaled for production.
  • Reconstruction Trees, vehicle and lettering rebuilt as clean single-colour line art.
Before and after: a detailed silver seal emblem with an eagle and circular text, redrawn with sharp feathers and lettering

Detailed seal emblem

  • Original A metallic seal with fine feathers and circular text, soft at small sizes.
  • Problem Feather detail and curved text lose definition when enlarged.
  • Reconstruction Eagle, stars and circular lettering rebuilt with crisp, consistent geometry.
Before and after: a photograph of a carved wooden totem converted into clean black-and-white vector line art

Photograph to line art

  • Original A photo of a carved wooden totem, not artwork at all.
  • Problem A photograph has texture, lighting and perspective, not clean edges.
  • Reconstruction The carving interpreted and traced as clean black-and-white vector line art.
Before and after: a black-and-white tank lines logo with a truck and oil rig, blurred in the original, redrawn as crisp single-colour vector artwork

One-colour industrial logo

  • Original A blurred black-and-white logo with a truck, rig and banner text.
  • Problem Thin lines and small lettering break up when cut or printed.
  • Reconstruction All elements rebuilt as clean, closed single-colour paths.
