Frequently Asked Questions About Vector Artwork
Getting the right vector file begins with the right questions. Here are practical answers about reconstruction, source artwork, formats, intended applications, and the quoting process.

About your artwork
We can often work from JPGs, PNGs, scans, or screenshots. The best available source improves accuracy. If important elements are missing, we will explain the uncertainty.
Can you vectorize a blurry or low-resolution logo?
Yes! At Vector By Hand, we specialize in manually recreating blurry, pixelated, and low-resolution logos into clean, sharp, and fully editable vector artwork. Our professional vector tracing services help restore details and create scalable files suitable for printing, signage, apparel, and branding.
Can you recreate missing fonts or lettering?
Yes! Our logo redraw specialists can manually reconstruct lettering and typography when the original font or editable source file is unavailable. We carefully match the original appearance, proportions, and spacing to create accurate, scalable vector artwork.
What if parts of my original artwork are missing or unclear?
Our experienced vector artists can reconstruct visible details and help restore incomplete or damaged artwork. When important elements are unclear, we’ll discuss the options with you before proceeding. This helps maintain accuracy and avoid unnecessary changes to your original design.

About files, formats and colours
AI, EPS, SVG and PDF serve different workflows. The right choice depends on software, supplier requirements and what needs to remain editable.
Which vector file formats will I receive?
We offer popular vector formats, including Adobe Illustrator (AI), EPS, SVG, and PDF, depending on your project requirements. High-resolution PNG and JPG files can also be provided. These formats support professional printing, digital design, and various production applications.
Can you match my original brand colors?
Yes. We aim to reproduce the original artwork’s colors as accurately as possible. If you provide specific HEX, RGB, CMYK, or Pantone references, we can use them when preparing your vector files. Accurate color reproduction in printing also depends on the printing process and materials.
Can you create SVG or DXF files for cutting machines?
We can prepare clean vector paths for applications such as vinyl cutting, laser engraving, and CNC workflows, with SVG or DXF output subject to project requirements. Share your machine specifications and intended application so we can assess the appropriate artwork preparation.
Can I print directly from an SVG?
Not always. The print supplier may have additional requirements beyond file type.
Are vector files always fully editable?
Editability depends on the structure, format, fonts, and agreed deliverable. Tell us what you need to change later.

About our process
Automatic tracing follows pixel data and can be useful in some contexts. Professional manual reconstruction is appropriate when accuracy, clean geometry and editing are priorities.
Do you use automatic tracing software?
No blind auto-tracing! Our vector artists manually reconstruct artwork using precise Bézier curves and carefully controlled anchor points. Unlike basic automated vector conversion, our manual vector tracing process focuses on accurate shapes, smooth edges, and clean, editable paths.
How long does vector tracing take?
Turnaround time depends on the complexity of your artwork and project requirements. Simple logo vectorization may be completed faster, while detailed illustrations require additional attention. We also accommodate urgent projects when production capacity allows. Contact us to confirm an estimated delivery time.
How much does manual vector tracing cost?
Our vector tracing prices depend on artwork complexity, level of detail, and delivery requirements. Simple logo redraws generally require less work than detailed illustrations or complex designs. Upload your artwork to receive a personalized, no-obligation quote.
Can a blurred or small logo be recreated?
Often yes, although detail that cannot be seen clearly may require confirmation.

About business work and confidentiality
Quotes should define the estimated delivery window, scope, proof process, and any included corrections. Large or technically complicated artwork may require additional review.
Do you accept bulk vector tracing projects?
Yes! Vector By Hand supports individual artwork requests as well as bulk vector tracing and recurring artwork production. We work with printing companies, apparel businesses, sign shops, and creative agencies that require consistent, professional vector artwork. Contact us to discuss your project volume and production requirements.
Is my artwork confidential and secure?
We understand that client artwork, logos, and designs may be commercially sensitive. We treat submitted files professionally and use them for the agreed project purposes. If your project requires specific confidentiality arrangements or an NDA, please discuss those requirements with us before sharing sensitive materials.
Can you prepare vector artwork for screen printing?
Yes! We create clean, scalable vector artwork suitable for screen printing and apparel decoration. Our services help businesses convert low-resolution logos and graphics into editable files for printing workflows. Specific color separations and production requirements should be confirmed before ordering.
